abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition having excellent freeze resistance, etc. and low glass transition temperature, and suitable as a primary coating material for an optical fiber core, by adding a specific diacrylate to a specific mixture of a urethane acrylate and a monofunctional acrylate. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) 20W80wt% urethane acrylate containing (meth)acryloyl groups at both terminals and obtained by (1) reacting a diisocyanate to both terminals of a polytetramethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 850W10,000 and (2) reacting the reaction product with a compound having a (meth)acryloyl group and a hydroxyl group, with (B) 80W20wt% monofunctional acrylate of formula I or II (R is 6W 18C alkyl; R 1 and R 3 are H or CH 3 ; R 2 is alkyl, phenyl, etc.; n is 1W14), and then compounding 100pts.wt. of the obtained mixture with (C) 3W100pts.wt. of a di(meth)acrylate of formula III or IV (n is 10W140; R 4 is C 2 H 4 , C 3 H 6 , etc.; A is group of formula V, VI, etc.) and containing polytetramethylene goycol skeleton having a molecular weight of 850W10,000 in the main chain. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
