titleOfInvention | Treatment of industrial waste |
abstract | PURPOSE: To attain the regenerative utilization of waste, by heating harmful hexavalent chromium contained in waste at 250W1,000°C in a reductive atmosphere to convert the same to stable trivalent chromium. n CONSTITUTION: Steel making dust containing a hexavalent chromium compound is introduced into a heating furnace held to a non-oxidative atmosphere to be heated and baked at 250W1,000°C. By this method, the hexavalent chromium compound can be converted to a water-insoluble and chemically stable trivalent chromium compound. The same heat treatment may be applied to steel making dust after said dust is coated with a reducible substance such as baked rice hull, sawdust or a carbon powder. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
