titleOfInvention | Novel glycerol derivative |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The glycerol derivative of formula I [R 1 is H or OH-protecting group; R 2 is substituted vinyltrimethylsilyl of formula II or substituted phenyl of formula III; R 3 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, (CH 2 ) n , or substituted phenyl of formula IV (Y is H, lower alkyl, alkenyl, lower alkoxy or halogen); Z is lower alkoxy, alkyl thioether residue, dialkylamino or halogen; n is 1W5]. n USE: Useful as a reaction intermediate for various optically active substances. Especially, an optically active sugar derivative can be produced by epoxidizing the titled compound having substituted vinylsilyl group, eliminating the trimethylsilyl group, and opening the resultant epoxy alcohol at a specific selected site. It is useful also as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I (the compounds of formulas C and D) can be produced, according to the reaction formula, by reacting the compound of formula A with the organic metallic compound of formula R 2 M (M is Li, Mg, etc.) and a cuprous halide. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
