abstract PURPOSE: To provide an adhesion improver capable of providing an excellent improvement in adhesion between an adhesive, a paint, etc. and a substrate, which comprises a product obtained by reacting an amino compound having a primary and/or secondary amino group in its molecule with a specific dicarbonyl compound. n CONSTITUTION: An amino compound having a primary and/or secondary amino group in its molecule (e.g.: 2-ethylhexyloxypropylamine or γ-amino propyltriethoxysilane) is reacted with a dicarbonyl compound of the formula (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently a 1W16C alkyl, a 6W12C aryl or a 1W4C alkoxy; R 3 is a 1C or higher hydrocarbon; and n is 0 or 1) (e.g.: dimethyl maleate or acetylacetone). The reaction product is incorporated as an adhesion improver in an adhesive, a paint, etc. in an amount of about 0.05W5% to improve the adhesion of the adhesive, paint, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
