abstract PURPOSE: A liquid shampoo composition that contains a combination of menthol with specific amounts of cyclodextrin and a surfactant, thus enabling free selection of smell tones by suppressing the menthol smell without any adverse effect on the refreshing feeling whereby the expansion of application fields becomes possible. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 5W30wt%, preferably 10W20wt% of at least one of surfactants, preferably alkyl sulfates, olefin sulfonate salts, or other anion surfactants, (B) 0.05W5wt%, preferably 0.1W2wt% of menthol, preferably l-menthol, (C) 1/2W20 times, preferably 1W10 times quantity of cyclodextrin, preferably β-cyclodextrin, based on component B, and, when needed (D) 3W20wt% of urea are used to enhance refresh or cool feeling caused by menthol without specific smell of menthol and enable a variety of other smells to be added. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
