abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a conjugated diene polymer having a high trans bond content and a narrow MW distribution, by polymerizing a conjugated diene in the presence of a composite catalyst comprising an organophosphate of Ce or Eu and an organomagnesium compound. n CONSTITUTION: An organophosphate of cerium or europium is prepared by using an organophosphoric acid compound of formula I or II (wherein j, k, l, and m are each ≥0, R 1 WR 4 are each H, a hydrocarbon, alkylphenoxy or the like), e.g., dibutyl phosphate or mono-2-ethylhexyl 2-ethylhexylphosphonate. The purpose conjugated diene polymer is obtained by polymerizing a conjugated diene (e.g., 1,3-butadiene) in the presence of a composite catalyst obtained by combining this organophosphate with an organomagnesium compound (e.g., diethylmagnesium) and, optionally, an organolithium compound (e.g., methyllithium). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
