titleOfInvention Production of n-(beta-mercaptoethyl)alkylamide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a raw material for cysteamine useful as an intermediate for synthesizing drugs and agricultural chemicals and a radiation-protecting substance in a short time efficiently, by adding radically hydrogen sulfide to an N-vinylalkylamide. n CONSTITUTION: An N-vinylalkylamide (e.g., N-vinylacetamide) is reacted with hydrogen sulfide in a solvent such as butyl acetate, etc., in the presence of excess liquefied hydrogen sulfide by the use of a radical initiator (e.g., peroxide, peracid ester, or azo compound) at 50W120°C, to give the aimed substance. The reaction is performed in a ratio of the N-vinylalkylamide and hydrogen sulfide of 2W100 times excess amount of hydrogen sulfide. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
