titleOfInvention Production of proline derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high yield, by preparing a sulfonic acid ester from an epoxy acid via the ammonia-treatment, protection of amino group and carboxyl group, deprotection of hydroxyl group, and mesylation or tosylation of the hydroxyl group, and treating the obtained ester with a base. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula V useful as an antifungal agent, especially as medicine or animal drug having anti-yeast and anti-mold activities can be produced with decreased steps in an extremely high yield, by (1) treating the compound of formula I (A is OH-protecting group) with ammonia, (2) protecting the amino group and carboxyl group of the resultant compound of formula II to obtain the compound of formula III (R 1 is NH 2 - protecting group; R 2 is COOH-protecting group), (3) removing the protecting group A of the hydroxyl group, (4) reacting with methanesulfonyl chloride or toluenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of pyridine, and (5) treating the obtained compound of formula IV (B is mesyl or tosyl) with a strong base such as sodium hydride. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
