abstract | PURPOSE: To attain to enhance reliability, by preparing a reagent by dissolving 2-mercaptoethanol used as a thiol compound in water or an aqueous boric acid solution apart from other reagent and using all of reagents by simultaneously mixing the same. n CONSTITUTION: In a method wherein o-phthanolaldehyde is used to be reacted with primary amine in the presence of a thiol compound to form an isoindole type fluorescent compound and the fluorescence of this compound is detected to perform the quantitative analysis of primary amine, 2-mercaptoethanol used as the thiol compound is dissolved in water or an aqueous boric acid solution to prepare a reagent separated from other reagent and said prepared reagent is preserved and all of the reagents are simultaneously mixed at a use time.
