abstract |
PURPOSE:To improve durability by combining a vertical magnetic recording medium on which a protective layer consisting of a Co-Cr oxide is constituted and a vertical magnetic head whose sliding surface with the recording medium is constituted of titanium carbide-contg. alumina ceramics (Al2O3.TiC). CONSTITUTION:The flexible vertical magnetic disk 1 is constituted by using a polyethylene terephthalate film as a substrate 11, laminating soft magnetic material layers 12 consisting of an Ni-Fe alloy and vertical magnetic recording layers 13 consisting of Co-Cr (20at% Cr) on both surfaces thereof an forming further the protective layers 14 consisting of the Co-Cr oxide thereon. On the other hand, the vertical magnetic head 2 is constituted by using a thin 'Permal loy(R)' (Ni-Fe) film as a main magnetic pole 21, supporting the same with an Mn-Zn ferrite core 22 and winding an excitation coil 23 thereon. The head has further the constitution consisting in forming a slider part 24 consisting of the titanium carbide (TiC)-contg. alumina ceramics (Al2O3.TiC) on the sliding surface with the disk medium which faces the top end of the main magnetic pole 21. |
