titleOfInvention Method for purifying demineralized water
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain deoxidized demineralized water to be used in an atomic power plant, etc. by passing oxygen-contg. demineralized water through an anion-exchange resin on which a hydrogen sulfite reducing redical, etc. is adsorbed, and then passing the water through a mixed-bed ion-exchange resin tower consisting of an H-and an OH-type resin. n CONSTITUTION: Oxygen-contg. demineralized water is passed through an anion- exchange resin on which a reducing radical such as HSO - 3 and SO 2- 3 is adsorbed to adsorb and remove the dissolved oxygen, and then passed through a mixed-bed ion-exchange resin tower consisting of an H- and an OH-type resin. Consequently, the oxygen is removed without consuming heat energy, etc., and the amt. of a waste liq. is remarkably reduced. The operation is also facilitated, and the impurities in minute amts. in a demineralized water tank can be removed. Besides, the apparatus is simplified and waste resin is not generated. Consequently, the spent demineralized water which has been discharged heretofore can be used without being discharged as the make-up water for a thermal electric power plant or an atomic power plant or the demineralized water for laboratories. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
