PURPOSE: To improve resistance to reversion during vulcanization and resistance to heat and flexing after vulcanization in all sulfur vulcanization systems contg. sulfeneamide vulcanization accelerator, by blending a specified bismaleimide and an arom. Carboxylic acid anhydride with raw rubber. n CONSTITUTION: A bismaleimide of the formula (wherein R is a bivalent acyclic aliph., cycloaliph., arom. or alkylarom. group, which may contain a hetero-atom such as O, N, or S in its main chain or side chain substituent) and an orom, carboxylic acid anhydride are blended with raw rubber. Examples of the bismaleimides are N, N'-ethylenebismaleimide and N, N'-hexamethylenebismal eimide. Examples of the arom. carboxylic acid anhydrides are phthalic anhydride and 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic dianhydride. pref. 0.3W4pts.wt. bismaleimide and 0.3W3pts.wt. arom. carboxylic anhydride are added to 100pts.wt. rubber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
