titleOfInvention Production of sulfatized substance
abstract PURPOSE: In the continuous thin-film sulfation with an SO 3 -containing gas, moistured air or steam is introduced into or immediately before the gas-liquid separator to effect the reaction whereby the sulfated product of an organic compound is obtained in the state of lightly colored condition. n CONSTITUTION: An organic feedstock 1 such as an alpha-olefin of 10W23 carbon atoms or a higher alcohol of 8W24 carbon atoms is allowed to react with an SO 3 -containing gas 2 introduced into a thin-film reactor 3 and moistured air or steam is introduced into or immediately before the gas-liquid separator 4 at the parts 5, 5' and 5" to obtain the objective compound from 6. 7 is exausted gas outlet, 8 is cooling water inlet 9, is its outlet. The amount of water inmoistened air or of steam is 1W10, preferably 2W5 times the equivalent quantity of the remaining SO 3 . n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
