titleOfInvention | Production of methanesulfonyl chloride |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain methanesulfonyl chloride useful as a raw material for various industrial drugs, etc., inexpensively and easily in high yield while suppressing side effects, by irradiating a mixed gas of methane, a surfurous acid gas, and chlorine with light rays. n CONSTITUTION: A mixed gas of 1W5mols, preferably 1.1W2mols methane, 1W5mols, preferably 1.1W3mols sulfurous acid gas, and 1mol chlorine is irradiated with light rays at 200W600nm wavelength using a low-pressure mercury vapor lamp, a high-pressure mercury vapor lamp, various fluorescent tubes, a xenon lamp, and/or sunlight, to give the aimed substance. The reaction gas during light irradiation is kept at -10W100°C, preferably at 0W30°C, and an inexpensive natural gas and/or town gas can be used instead of methane. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
