abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate analytical result regardless of the number of specimens by inhibiting the adhesion of the component of the specimen to the wall surface of a measuring cell, by adding an ion pair agent to a detection reaction reagent and effectively masking the unreacted component in the reagent. CONSTITUTION:Tetramethylammonium being an ion pair agent is added to an anti-human beta-lipoprotein agent for detecting beta-lipoprotein in a ratio of 0.1% and the pH of the resulting composition is adjusted to 7.4-7.6 by a buffer solution such as tris-buffer to prepare an antigen-antibody reaction reagent. When continuous analysis is applied to the same material many times by using this reagent, a definite measured value is obtained regardless of the analytical number of times. That is, the ion pair agent in the reagent has action for deactivating the unreacted component in the reagent.
