abstract | PURPOSE: An antiscorching agent which can exhibit specific excellent effect, having a specified phosphorus compound and a specified organic acid anhydride as effective components. n CONSTITUTION: The desired antiscorching agent is obtained by using a mixture of a phosphorus compound of the formula (wherein R 1 and R 2 are selected indendently of each other from among alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl and aryl groups and X is oxygen or sulfur) with a polycarboxylic acid anhydride as an effective component. The mixing ratio of said phosphorus compound to said polycarboxylic acid anhydride is usually 1:0.05W10, preferably, 1:0.05W1.
