titleOfInvention Selective leaching of antimony and/or arsenic
abstract PURPOSE: To enable the selective leaching of antimony and arsenic, by treating a substance containing antimony and/or arsenic with sodium hydrosulfide. n CONSTITUTION: A substance containing antimony and/or arsenic such as the cupellation dust, refinery dust, refinery slime, etc., in copper refinery, is treated with sodium hydrosulfide. The leaching temperature in the above treatment is preferably 70W90°C, and the concentration of the sodium hydrosulfide in the leaching liquid is preferably 150W250g/l. Antimony can be recovered in the form of antimony sulfide by adjusting the pH of the leached liquid to 5W8 with an acid, and then arsenic is recovered as arsenic sulfide by lowering the pH to ≤2 with additional acid. Even in the refinery of copper or lead ore having high content of impurities such as antimony, arsenic, etc., the removal of the impurities from the system can be facilitated and the process can be operated in high efficiency. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
