titleOfInvention Material for oxygen-permeable soft contact lens
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled material having highly hydrophilic surface, high oxygen permeability and excellent strength, by desilylating a copolymer composed of a specific polyorganosiloxane and a monomer having silylated hydroxyl group. n CONSTITUTION: The objective material is produced by (1) copolymerizing (A) a polyorganosiloxane having a polymerizable group and a hydrophilic group on the same molecular chain and (B) a monomer having silylated hydroxyl group preferably at a weight ratio (A/B) of 90/10W70/30, and (2) hydrolyzing the copolymer usually with an alcohol. The component A can be produced by reacting a polyorganosiloxane having glycidyl group on the molecular side chain with methacrylic acid, and the component B is produced preferably by reacting an OH-containing hydrophilic monomer such as hydroxyethyl acrylate with trimethylchlorosilane, etc., thereby silylating the hydroxyl group of the monomer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
