abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a rubbery random copolymer in high catalytic activity, by using a catalyst system consisting of a reaction product of a 4-valent titanium halide and a hydrocarbon polymer, an organic Al compound, and an organic compound containing OH and COOH. n CONSTITUTION: Ethylene is copolymerized with an α-olefin if necessary with a diolefin, by using a catalyst system consisting of (A) a reaction product obtained by reacting a 4-valent titanium halide [e.g. TiCl 4 , Ti(OC 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl 2 , etc.] with a hydrocarbon polymer containing OH and/or COOH group (e.g. oxidative decomposition product of an ethylene-propylene rubber) preferably at 80W150°C for 30minW2hr, (B) an organic Al compound [e.g. a compound of formula AlR n X 3-n (R is ≥12C hydrocarbon group; X is H or halogen; n is 1W3)] and (C) an organic compound containing OH and/or COOH in an amount of 0W0.95mol (in terms of the functional group) per 1mol of the compo nent B (e.g. n-butanol, acetic acid, etc.). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
