titleOfInvention Nmr shift reagent
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R 1 , R 2 are alkyl, aryl; R 3 is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl; * designates asymmetric carbon). n EXAMPLE: N-t-Butylaminocarbonyl-L-valine-lauryl amide. n USE: It is used as an optically active shift reagent for NMR. n PREPARATION: An optically active aminoacid is treated with an isocyanate to give a urea derivative of the aminoacid, then the product is allowed to react with an amine to give a compound of formula I. Further, the product is treated with deuteromethanol to give a compound of formula II. The shift reagent attained from the reaction is little hygroscopic and easy to handle in air. Further, it is free from paramagnetic metal to inhibit the NMR signals from broadening, resulting in high resolution. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
