abstract PURPOSE: A water-soluble solvent is added to an alkyd resin modified with a specific polyoxyethylene glycol and a part of the resin is neutralized and dispersed in water to give the title cold-curable composition. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is obtained by adding a solvent soluble in water to an alkyd resin modified with polyoxyethylene glycol with an acid value of 20W40, which is prepared by adding (A) 10W50pts.wt. of a polyhydric alcohol bearing 2W6 hydroxyls in a molecule, (B) 15W70pts.wt. of a polybasic acid of 4W10 carbon atoms, (C) 0W40pts.wt. of oil and fatty acid, (D) 0W25pts.wt. of monobasic acid of 6W18 carbon atoms, where OH/COOH is 1.0W1.5, (E) 0W50pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of components AWD, of an epoxy compound and (F) 1W7pts.wt., per 100pts.wt. of components AWE, of polyoxyethylene glycol of 600W20,000 molecular weight, then, neutralizing the composition partially and dispersing the product in water. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
