titleOfInvention Electrochromic display element
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electrochromic display (ECD) element capable of controlling color development and erasion with a low power consumption and superior in life, responsivity, etc., by using the mixture of an org. polymer electrolyte and an inorg. ion exchanger powder as the electrolyte of the ECD element. n CONSTITUTION: The mixture of the org. polymer electrolyte, such as (meth) acrylate copolymer or the copolymer of styrene having a quternary ammonium group, or optionally cross-lined polymer, preferably, a fluoropolymer electrolyte, and the fine inorg. ion exchanger powder, such as zirconium phosphate or zirconium tungstate, composed of a ≤10μm fine powder is used as the electrolyte of the ECD element, thus permitting power consumption to be lowered as compared with the case of using each alone, and the control of color development and the erasion to be executed, and life, responsivity, contrast ratio, etc., to be greatly enhanced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
