titleOfInvention Polyester fiber having improved heat-resistance
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled fiber resistant to the breakage of the molecular chain caused by the reaction product of the terminal COOH with the amine in rubber, and having excellent strength and heat-resistance as a rubber- reinforcing fiber, by decreasing the amount of the terminal COOH group and remarkably increasing the volume of crystal. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units and having an intrinsic viscosity of ≥0.9 is subjected to the melt-spinning, cooled and solidified immediately after spinning, applied with a lubricant, and taken up at a rate of 200W600m/min to obtain an undrawn fiber having a birefringence of 50×10 -5 W150×10 -5 . The objective fiber having a terminal carboxyl content of ≤15 equivalent per 10 6 g of polymer, a crystal volume of ≥4.5×10 5 Å 3 , and an amine decomposition strength of ≥4.8g/de can be produced by drawing the above undrawn fiber at a draw ratio of ≥5.7. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
