titleOfInvention Synthesis of polyalkylene ether polyol
abstract PURPOSE: To produce polyalkylene ether polyol having terminal OH group and suitable as a raw material of urethane, etc., in one step, by polymerizing tetrahydrofuran using a heteropolyacid salt having a specific hydration degree as a catalyst in the presence of water and a polyhydric alcohol. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polyalkylene ether polyol can be produced by polymerizing tetrahydrofuran or a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and other cyclic ether copolymerizable therewith (e.g. ethylene oxide) (preferably at 30W100°C for 0.5W20hr) in the presence of water and/or a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. ethylene glycol) using a catalyst consisting of a heteropolyacid and/or its salt (e.g. 1-lithium 12-tungstophosphate) coordinated with or containing 0.1W15mol, preferably 1.1W8mol of water molecules based on 1mol of the heteropolyanion. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
