abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition having improved cold resistance, especially low-temperature brittleness, without lowering the weather-resistance, rain-resistance and mechanical properties of the original resin, and useful for the use in a cold district, by compounding a chloroprene rubber with a copolymer of 1-chlorobutadiene and an acrylic acid ester. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of chloroprene rubber is compounded with 10W40pts. wt. of a copolymer composed of 2W15wt% 1-chlorobutadiene and 98W85wt% acrylic acid ester. The acrylic acid ester is the one giving a homopolymer having on impact brittleness temperature of ≤-50°C, e.g. n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethoxyethyl acrylate, etc. The blending of the chloroprene rubber and the copolymer is carried out by mechanical blending or latex blending. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
