titleOfInvention | Production of closed-cell vinyl chloride resin molding |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled molding which has an uneven surface having natural roundness and is excellent in surface gloss and in which light transmission varies from place to place, by shaping a liquid-dispersed vinyl chloride plastisol contg. a plasticizer and a volatile liquid and then causing it to gel by heating. n CONSTITUTION: A volatile liquid (e.g. water) having a solubility parameter higher by 2(cal/cm 3 ) 1/2 than that of a plasticizer described below, which is evaporated under thermal gelation temperature conditions and has poor compatibility with a plasticizer having a b.p. of 150°C or below,is dispersed in a stirred vinyl chloride plastisol consisting of 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) vinyl chloride resin paste resin having a particle size of 5μ or below, 30W400pts.wt. plasticizer and, optionally, a high-temperature stabilizer. The dispersion is deaerated under a reduced pressure of -660W-760mmHg to obtain a liquid-dispersed plastisol having a volatile liquid content of 0.6W10wt% and a viscosity of 3,000W20,000cps (with a brookfield viscometer, 50rpm). The sol is shaped and caused to gel by heating to obtain the titled molding contg. closed cells having a diameter of 0.01W20mm and distributed therein. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
