abstract PURPOSE: A resin composition for flame-retarding laminated sheets having excellent electrical properties, excellent low-temperature punchability and low water absorptivity, comprising a specified reactive phosphate, a phenol, a melamine and a formaldehyde. n CONSTITUTION: A resin composition comprising a reactive phosphate of formula I (wherein R is H or a 1W20 C alkylene, m and n are each 1 or 2 and m+n=3), a phenol, a melamine and a formaldehyde. It is desirable that said composition contains the reactive phosphate in an amount of 10W50wt% based on the total weight. Examples of the reactive phosphate used include compounds of formulas II and III. A preferable process for producing said resin composition consists in reacting a phenol with a formaldehyde, adding a reactive phosphate and a formaldehyde to the reaction system and reacting the entire quantity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
