PURPOSE:The titled composition which can give a cured product rendered flexible without detriment to mechanical strength, containing an epoxy resin and fine vulcanized rubber powder formed by solidifying, by vulcanization, a fine particle dispersion of a liquefied rubber incompatible with the epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:A curable epoxy resin composition containing solid vulcanized rubber particles which are nearly exactly spherical and have a diameter of 0.5-30mu is obtained by uniformly dispersing an incompatible liquid rubber (e.g., carboxyl-modified acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber) in an epoxy resin (e.g., bisphenol A diglycidyl ether epoxy resin) and vulcanizing this liquid rubber. This composition can form a cured product rendered flexible without detriment to the inherent mechanical strength as an epoxy resin. |
