titleOfInvention Preparation of filter medium for heavy metal
abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the concentation of imcorporated heavy metal remarkably by filtration by using a filter medium prepd. by compression molding a material obtd. from water permeable mineral, Portland cement and basic hardening agent and water. n CONSTITUTION: 25W35pts.wt. Portland cement is mixed with 100pts.wt. shirasu particles and a mixture consisting of 2W3pts.wt. inorg. basic hardening agent such as KCl, CaCl 2 , NaCl, etc. mixed with 15pts.wt. water is added to the shirasu-Portland cement mixture. The mixture is incorporated in a molding flask having a specified shape, and stamped and compressed, and then aged for molding. The molded product is removed from the flask and dried naturally in the air, and dried further with steam or by heating. Obtd. filter medium 2 is attahced to a waste outlet 1' of a tank 1 in such a manner as to block the outlet, and the aq. soln. 3 of heavy metals is charged from above to execute filtration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
