titleOfInvention Electron transfer type polyglutamate membrane
abstract PURPOSE: The titled novel membrane consisting of a polyglutamate into which a viologen group is introduced, having extremely high electron transfer rate in membrane, showing the constant electron transfer rate independently of the thickness of membrane when it is used in oxidation-reduction reaction of permeable membrane, and having improved flexibility and durability. n CONSTITUTION: The aimed membrane consisting of a polyglutamate (preferably crosslinked with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane) into which a viologen group is introduced. In order to obtain the membrane, for example, poly(γ-methyl-D- glutamate) is reacted with bromopropanol, so that the methyl group at the γposition in the repeating unit shown by the formula I is replaced with bromopropyl group. Then, the viologen group is introduced into the poly(γ- bromopropyl-glutamate), to give a viologen crosslinked type polyglutamate having a structure shown by the formula II. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
