titleOfInvention Thiophene derivative and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:An compound of formula I [Ar is phenyl or styryl which may be respectively substituted; R is H, lower alkyl or (substituted) phenyl]. n EXAMPLE: 2-N,N-Ditolylamino-5-(β-phenylstyryl)thiophene. n USE: An organic photoconductive material for electrophotography and fluoescent brightener. n PREPARATION: A phenyl derivative of formula II [Y is formula III (Z is halogen) or PO(OR') 2 (R' is lower alkyl)] is reacted with an aldehyde compound of formula IV in the presence of a basic catalyst at room temperature W100°C to give the compound of formula I . The compound of formula II is obtained easily by reacting the corresponding halomethyl compound with a trialkyl phosphite or triphenylphosphine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
