titleOfInvention Novel method for synthesizing vinyl ether
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high purity under mild conditions, by reacting a compound obtained easily from an alkali metallic salt of methoxyohenylsulfonylmethane and an organic halide with a tertiary butoxypotassium in tetrahydrofuran. n CONSTITUTION: Methoxyphenylsulfonylmethane is reacted with butyl lithium to give an alkali metallic salt, which is then condensed with an organic halide, e.g. an alkyl halide, to afford a compound of formula I (R is alkyl, alekynl, aryl or aralkyl which may respectively have substituent groups; Y is H or a group inert to this reaction; ph is phenyl), which is then reacted with tertiary butoxypotassium in tetrahydrofuran solution to give the aimed vinyl ether of formula II. According to this method, the organic halide or carbonyl compound as a starting material provides the aimed vinyl ether having one more carbon atom by the formation of the C-C bond. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
