titleOfInvention Clear paint and production thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled paint which gives a coating film having excellent erosion resistance and gloss retention, by mixing a specified anti-caking agent with an aq. dispersion of a fine acrylic polymer particle, drying the mixture and mixing the resulting powder with a paint stock soln. n CONSTITUTION: 0.1W50pts.wt. (100pts.wt. particles B described below) anti-caking agent (A) (e.g. vinyltrichlorosilane or fluorododecanoic acid) which is water- soluble or water-dispersible and non-volatile and does not cause the caking of the particles B, is mixed with an aq. dispersion of fine acrylonitrile polymer particles (B) having a particle size of 1μ or below, and the mixture is dried to obtain an acrylonitrile polymer powder. 5W60pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. non-volatile matter in paint stock soln.) said polymer powder is mixed with a paint stock soln. to produce a clear paint. According to this method, the surface of the particle B is coated with the agent A so that the particle B is not caked, but exists in the form of fine particle as such. Hence, even when the particle is mixed with a clear paint, transparent appearance can be kept and weather resistance can be improved by the particle B. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
