titleOfInvention Method for measuring water drop diameter
abstract PURPOSE:To measure simply and easily a particle diameter distribution of a desired water drop by counting electrically the water drops passing through an interval between electrodes having a sharp top end and a flat part respectively. CONSTITUTION:Pole rods 12, 13 providing the electrodes 14, 15 respectively are arranged opposingly with each other in an atmosphere in which the water drops are flying. The top end of the electrode 14 is formed sharply, and the top end of the electrode 15 has the flat part. The interval (d) between both electrodes 14, 15 is adjustable. If DC voltage is impressed between the rods 12, 13 formed in such a way, electric current is passed between both electrodes 14, 15 in case the water drop having a diameter larger than the interval (d) is passed therethrough. Consequently, the numbers of the water drops larger than the interval (d) can be measured by counting the number of times of the current flow by a recorder 16. The particle diameter distribution of the desired water drop can be measured simply and easily by adjusting the interval (d) in such a way.
