abstract PURPOSE: An aqueous dispersion, obtained by incorporating a solid aromatic hydroxy compound with a plasticizer, an emusifying agent and an aqueous medium, usable as an antiseptic and antifungal agent for agricultural, horticultural and industrial products, and having improved stability in a high concentration. n CONSTITUTION: A solid aromatic hydroxy compound of formula I (R is 1W30C alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; X is halogen or nitro; m is an integer 1W6; n and p are integers 0W5; however 0<m+n+p≤6), formula II [R' is R; X' is X; Y is lower alkylene; q is 0 or 1; r, s, t and u are integers 0W4; however (r+t) and (s+u) are integers 0W4) or formula III (v is an integer 1W8; w and x are integers 0W7; however 0≤v+w+x≤8] which is a solid near ordinary temperature (35°C) and has antimicrobial and/or antifungal action is incorporated with a polyoxyalkylene glycol as a plasticizer and a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether as an emulsifying agent to form a water-in-oil type dispersion, and an aqueous medium is then added thereto to give the aimed oil-in-water type dispersion. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
