titleOfInvention Nonaqueous electrolyte battery
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient sealing effect by a relatively simple means by using a polyamide resin to form an electric-insulating gasket for sealing the battery case. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide resin such as nylon 11 [condensation polymerization product of 11-aminoundecanoic acid H2N(CH2)10COOH] is used as a material for a gasket 26. Nylon 11 does not dissolve in nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving LiBF4 used as an electrolyte in 1,3-dioxolan. It also has an excellent elasticity. By the means mentioned above, it is possible to achieve a sealing effect greatly higher than that of the conventional polypropylene gasket.
