abstract PURPOSE:A lubricant composition that is prepared by adding an oil-soluble resin that is obtained by grafing an unsaturated epoxy monomer onto an oil-soluble alpha-olefin polyner to a lubricant oil, thus showing high viscosity index and good cleaning and dispersing properties. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricant composition is obtained by adding, to a lubricant oil, an oil-soluble graft copolymer which is prepared by grafting (A) an unsaturated epoxy monomer, preferably glycidyl (meth)acrylate or acryl glycidyl ether onto (B) an oil-soluble alpha-olefin polymer with a melt index of usually 0.1-500 at 190 deg.C, preferably an ethylene copolymer rubber or ethylene- propylene rubber containing 40-80mol% of ethylene.
