abstract PURPOSE: A rubber vulcanizing agent which, when applied to a rubber (especially, chloroprene rubber), can form a rubber vulcanizate of a large breaking strength and a large elongation at break, containing glyoxal mono- or di-thiourea as a base. n CONSTITUTION: Use is made of, as a rubber vulcanizing agent, white, acicular crystal form glyoxal monothiourea (formula I ) or glyoxal dithiourea (formula II) obtained by reacting glyoxal with thiourea at about 0W100°C for about 1hr.
