titleOfInvention | Thermoplastic polymer |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a novel thermoplastic polymer consisting of a vinyl copolymer containing 6-membered glutaric anhydride structural unit in the main chain, having high depolymerization activation free energy and excellent heat decomposition resistance and transparency, and producible easily. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer which is a vinyl copolymer containing the cyclic structural unit of formula (R 1 and R 2 are H or alkyl, preferably both R 1 and R 2 are methyl) having a depolymerization activation energy of ≥56.5k cal/mol can be produced by heat-treating a copolymer of e.g. methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate in an inert gas atmosphere to effect the intersegment condensation cyclization reaction in the molecule. The intrinsic viscosity of the polymer is preferably 0.01W2dl/g. n EFFECT: It has high solubility in solvents, gives a resin composition curable by crosslinking when used in combination with a crosslinking agent such as a polyamine having low molecular weight, and can be utilized effectively. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
