abstract | PURPOSE:To improve the control precision of the line pressure by providing a pressure governor valve regulating the line pressure fed to the hydraulic cylinder of an output side pulley of a belt type continuously variable transmission and controlling the control voltage of the said valve based on the torque of an input side pulley and the speed change ratio of the said transmission. CONSTITUTION:A belt type continuously variable transmission changes the suspension radius of a belt 26 to each pulley and controls the speed ratio (e) by bringing individual movable pulleys 22a, 24b on the input and output sides into contact with fixed pulleys 22b, 24a or separating them with respective hydraulic cylinders. Each hydraulic cylinder feeds the line pressure discharged from an oil pump 28 and regulated by a pressure governor valve 32. In this case, the pressure governor valve 32 controls in accordance with the line pressure control voltage Pout obtained from an equation Pout=K2.Tin.(e+1)/e, where K2 is a constant, Tin is the torque of the input side pulleys 22a, 22b. In addition, Pout is determined by taking the rotation speed of the output side hydraulic cylinder and the engine rotation speed, etc. into consideration, as required. |
