titleOfInvention Element for hydrogen peroxide analysis
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an element for hydrogen peroxide analysis, resistant to the deactivation of the pyruvic acid oxidase on the substrate with time, and having high durability, by using a diffusion-resistant coupler as the coupler, and restricting the range of the water-number of a component within a specific range. n CONSTITUTION: The objective element for hydrogen peroxide analysis is composed of a substrate having a layer containing pyruvic acid oxidase, wherein a diffusion-resistant coupler is used as the coupler and a substance having a water- number of 6W13 is used as a component. The diffusion-resistant coupler is e.g. pyrazolone coupler, naphthol coupler, etc. The coupler and the oxidase may be present in the same or different layers. The substance having the above water- number is essential for improving the storage stability of the analytic element of the present invention, and it is preferable to use the diffusion-resistant coupler in the case of adding by so-called oil-pract process. The component in a fluid specimen can be determined by immersing the element in a fluid specimen, and determining the pigment produced in a definite time interval by spectrophotometry using standard color chart. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
