titleOfInvention Adhesive composition for reinforcement of joints of optical fiber
abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled adhesive compsn. having strong adhesion to quartz glass, metal, etc. and having high water-resistant adhesive power, prepd. by adding a specified silane compd. to an unsatd. carboxylic acid-modified olefin polymer. CONSTITUTION:The adhesive compsn. is prepd. by adding 0.05-5wt% silane compd. to a modified polymer obtained by grafting unsatd. carboxylic acid (anhydride) with a polyolefininc polymer to a degree of graft modification of 0.005 -3wt%. The silane compd. is at least one selected from among vinylsilane (e.g. vinyltriethoxysilane), epoxysilane (e.g. gamma-glycidoxypropyltrimethoysilane), methacryloxysilane (e.g. gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) and mercaptosilane (e.g. gamma-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane).
