titleOfInvention Fluoran compound and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:Fluoran compounds of formula I , wherein R 1 is a 3W6C sec. alkyl with respect to C attached to N; R 2 is a 1W3C prim. alkyl, a 3W4C alkoxyalkyl. n EXAMPLE: 2-Anilino-3-methyl-6-(N-ethyl-1'-methylethylamino)-fluoran. n USE: Color couplers for thermal recording and pressure-sensitive recording paper, which delop black when brought into close contact with an electron-accepting material. n PREPARATION: A compd. of formula II is reacted with a compd. of formula III(wherein R is H, a 1W4C alkyl) in the presence of a condensing agent such as 85W100% sulfuric acid or (poly)phosphoric acid at -5W90°C for several hr W several tens of hr. The reaction mixture is poured into water. The precipitate is recovered by filtration. The resulting cake is heat-treated in an alkaline aq. soln., and the resulting slightly colored, white crystal is recovered by filtration, dried and recrystallized. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
