titleOfInvention Health food containing cultured mycelia of forms japonicus
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the mycelia of MANNENTAKE (Fomes japonicus, a kind of fungi) (a health food) containing the component resembling close to that of the natural MANNENTAKE, in a short time and high yield, at a low cost, by culturing seed mycelia in a liquid medium containing glucose and wheat embryo as essential components at specific ratios. n CONSTITUTION: A mineral component such as the salt of P, Mn, Mg, Ca, Fe, etc. and a nutrient component such as embryo of cereals, rice bran, etc. are added to sterilized water, stirred and dissolved to obtain a liquid medium. The medium is added with 0.2W10W/V% glucose and 0.2W2W/V% wheat embryo, sterilized usually at 120W130°C for 15W30min, inoculated with the seed mycelia of MANNENTAKE, and cultured under aerobic condition. The amoutn of the seed mycelia to be added to the medium is as low as 5W10mg per 100ml of the medium, and the cultivation is carried out at 25W30°C under agitation at 200W300r.p.m. under aeration of 0.5W3.0V.V.m. for 7W21 days in a dark place. The mycelia of MANNENTAKE containing the components close to the components of the natural fruiting body of MANNENTAKE can be produced by this process in high yield. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
