Elemental analysis (%) C 35.3±2.0, H 5.0±1.0, N 14.4±1.5, S 5.7±1.0 and Na 3.8±1.0; molecular formula (molecular weight), C 16 H 25 N 6 O 12 S.Na (548.45); solubility, soluble in water and dimethylsulfoxide, hardly soluble in ethyl acetate, CHCl 3 and ether; color reactions, positive to ninhydrin reaction and negative to Greig-Rieback reaction, Sakaguchi's reaction and Birton's reaction; etc. n USE: Non-toxic antibacterial agent effective to Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. n PREPARATION: A bacterial strain belonging to Flexibacter, e.g. Flexibacter YK- 114 strain (FERM-P No.7155, IFO 14263), etc. is cultured preferably under aeration and agitation at 4W8 pH and 15W35°C for 24W144hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
