abstract PURPOSE: An antiarteriosclerotic transfusion showing cholesterol-lowering action by intravenous medication, containing eicosapentaenoic acid or its ester. n CONSTITUTION: An antiartheriosclerotic pharmaceutical preparation comprising a fish oil containing sardine oil, cod oil, cuttlefish oil, mackerel oil, etc. its ester, especially purified fish oil having low side effect on organism as a fat and oil component for a fat and oil transfusion. A triglyceride comprising eicosapentaenoic acid as a component or eicosapentaenoic acid ethyl ester is preferable the ester. The pharmaceutical preparation can be prepared by dispersing 5W20% (w/v) fats and oils, 1W2% purified vitellus lecithin and 2W3% glycerine into distilled water for injection, emulsifying them under pressure. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
