titleOfInvention Pressure fixing device
abstract PURPOSE:To prevent effectively a drop of a fixing property in the end of a fixing roll by forming so that the outside diameter of both end parts of at least one roll of a pair of fixing rolls becomes larger than other part, and also increasing continuously the outside diameter of both the end parts toward both the ends. CONSTITUTION:The outside diameter of a range of a length l' of both end parts of a fixing roll 1 is formed so as to be larger than an outside diameter D0 of a part of a length l, and also the outside diameter of a range of the length l' is increased continuously toward the roll end part. The maximum diameter D1 is set so that DELTAr=(D1-D0)/2 becomes below a gap (g) determined by a diameter of a pair of fixing rolls and a cross angle. By using such a fixing roll 1, the gap (g) is eliminated substantially, it is possible to cause no drop of pressure in both ends of a press-contact part of the roll, and a drop of a fixing property of both the end parts can be prevented effectively.
