abstract | PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which is suitable for use in a temperature sensor and has stable PTC characteristics even after it has been repeatedly subjected to heat cycle, by adding an antioxidant to an electrically conductive organic compsn. consisting of an org. polymer and carbon black. n CONSTITUTION: A polymer (A) such as polyethylene or an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, carbon black (B) and an antioxidant (C) such as 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2- di-hydroquinoline or 4-hydroxymethyl-2,6-di-tert-butylphenol are mixed together to obtain the desired electrically conductive org. compsn. The resulting compsn. has PCT characteristics exhibiting such properties that when its resistance reaches a specified temp. range, the positive temperature coefficient is abruptly increased. The compsn. is sensitive to changes in ambient temp. and has PCT characteristics wherein initial resistance and mechanical characteristics are stable even after it has been repeatedly subjected to heat cycle. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
