titleOfInvention Modified polystyrene resin composition or molding
abstract PURPOSE: To make crosslinking of a polystyrene resin by irradiation with an ionizing radiation possible, by adding a compound having at least two methacryloyl groups to a polystyrene resin and irradiating the mixture with an ionizing radiation. n CONSTITUTION: A composition formed by adding a compound having at least two methacryloyl groups to a polystyrene resin or its molding is irradiated with an ionizing radiation. The amount of said methacryloyl group-containing compound is 1W40pts.wt. preferably 5W30pts.wt., per 100pts.wt. polystyrene resin. When this amount is smaller than 1pt.wt., the effect of irradiation is insufficient, while when it exceeds 40pts.wt., the processability becomes poor. Examples of the compounds having at least two methacryloyl groups include polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate, 1,6-hexanediol dimethacrylate, and trimethylolethane trimethacrylate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
