titleOfInvention Imidazole derivative and fungicide for agricultural and horticultural use
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R 1 is H or lower alkyl; R 2 is lower alkyl; R 3 is alkenyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or higher alkyl; R 4 is same as R 1 ; X is O or S). n EXAMPLE: N-1-( 1-cyclohexyloxycarbonylbutyl )-N-( 1-imidazolylcarbonyl)-furfurylamine. n USE: An agricultural and horticultural fungicide. It can be used effectively in the fields of chemical industry, agriculture and horticulture. It exhibits controlling activity to rice blast, late blight of tomato, etc. by scattering, and is effective as a seed disinfectant especially for the control of bakanae disease and helminthosporium leaf spot of rice. Furthermore, soil blights such as damping-off of beet can be controlled by the treatment of soil with said compound. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting the carbamoyl chloride of formula II with imidazole of formula III in an inert solvent such as dimethylsulfoxide, etc. in the presence of a base such as triethylamine at 20W150°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
